Follow Your Dancing Star, 22 x27 inch red and white quilt

“Follow Your Dancing Star” follows in the tradition of the friendship star quilts that danced in the ceiling of my solo exhibit “Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley’s Red and White Quilts.” The focus of the quilt is a single red friendship star block on a white background and bordered with red fabric.

The simple design is given depth and dimension by hand quilting and lots of buttons. The word dance is appliquéd in the center of the quilt.

The back of the quilt is a red and white heart bouquet motif. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

This quilt is one-of-a-kind although it is part of a series. I signed it on the front.
