I try not to talk before 10 a.m. That is because I like to spend quiet time in the mornings, collecting my thoughts, dreaming my dreams and making my plans. Often I spend this time on my patio with my flowers. It is this quiet time that inspired my quilt “Morning Meditation With my Flowers”.
“Morning Meditation with My Flowers” is composed of six flower blocks surrounded by a green African print. The flowers are digital images fussy cut from a panel. They are not appliqued. However the flowers are outlined by hand in embroidery thread to give them dimension, and some of the flowers are embellished with a button in the center. The quilt measures 40x45 inches. It is machine pieced and quilted except for the hand embroidery in the flowers.
The fabric on the back is a floral motif. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. I signed it on the front. This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
